Organisers of the annual Government College Ughelli (GCU) Relays have called for entries for the eighth edition scheduled for November 14th, 2026. The event primarily targets schools by invitation, but other interested schools may be considered. Past editions have seen participation from schools such as Novena University Staff School and Yewa College, whose athlete Sunday Akintan set a 100m record that remains unbroken. Early preparations for the 8th edition have commenced, including the reconstitution of sub-committees.
