Speakers at The Information’s AI Agenda Live conference in San Francisco on Wednesday said that open-source models and cheaper releases from Anthropic and OpenAI are helping business customers control costs. Amjad Masad, CEO of coding assistant Replit, noted that open-source models add pricing pressure on labs. However, for many companies, it remains unclear how much value they are getting from AI spending.
