A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Falana Oyewole, has declined his appointment as Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, citing concerns over the alleged marginalization of the Erinje community in the distribution of political offices. Oyewole conveyed his decision in a letter dated September 22, 2026, addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government. He expressed gratitude for the appointment but stated that he could not accept it following consultations with his family and political leaders in Ode-Erinje. He noted that the decision was informed by the perceived exclusion of Erinje from strategic positions under the current administration.
