Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that a fresh political strategy is being engineered to counter former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking after a tour of infrastructure projects in Abuja, Wike clarified that the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) rebellious 'G5' bloc, of which he was a key figure, primarily targeted Atiku in 2023, not Obi. He explained that the G5 deployed a calculated maneuver to siphon votes away from Atiku in the South-South region by urging voters to support Obi. Wike did not disclose the specifics of the new strategy.
