Tinubu’s absence: National Assembly should reconvene – Rep group

A group of House of Representatives members known as the Save Democracy Group has called on the National Assembly to reconvene and address President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's absence from the country. The group stated that if the President has not transmitted a declaration as required by the constitution, the National Assembly should invoke Section 145(2) to mandate Vice-President Kashim Shettima to act as President. The statement was signed by Reps Awaji-Inombek Dagomie Abiante and Abubakar Yahaya. The group emphasized that the National Assembly must uphold the Constitution.
