Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio stated at the UN General Assembly that durable global peace is impossible without African leadership. He criticized the UN Security Council for reflecting the world of 1945 and lacking permanent African representation. Bio emphasized that Africa, with over 1.6 billion people, seeks its rightful place in the Council's decision-making. He also noted that no global solutions on peace, climate, food, energy, or technology can be built without African leadership.
