The longstanding and cordial relations between Kenya and the Republic of Indonesia continue to expand through sustained engagement, knowledge exchange, and institutional capacity building in response to an increasingly complex global security environment. The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Indonesia, H.E. Abdirashid Salat Abdille, at the Defence Forces Headquarters in Nairobi on 23 September 2026, for discussions aimed at strengthening the Kenya–Indonesia strategic partnership. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to explore areas of mutual interest and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening defence and diplomatic relations. During the discussion, the two leaders reviewed existing defence cooperation and explored opportunities to deepen collaboration between the Kenya Defence Forces and the Indonesian National Armed Forces, with Ambassador Abdille emphasizing Indonesia's commitment to defence ties.
