Escalating violence in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo has displaced thousands of civilians. In South Kivu province, fighting in Fizi, Uvira, Walungu, and Kalehe territories has displaced more than 40,000 people in Fizi alone since July. The province now hosts nearly 1.2 million internally displaced people. Clashes in North Kivu's Masisi territory have caused further displacement, as humanitarian partners assess the impact and warn of additional needs.
