Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has addressed the silence of some former colleagues, friends, and associates who have not publicly supported him amid his ongoing legal troubles and detention. In a statement titled 'My Relationships and the Aftermath' posted on his Facebook page, he acknowledged concerns over the response of people he had previously supported. He said his decisions to support individuals and causes were guided by his Islamic faith, Arewa upbringing, personal values, and conscience. El-Rufai added that he never offered support with the expectation of repayment in praise or gratitude.
