Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the presidential candidate of the Accord Party, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State met in Ibadan to discuss forming a Government of National Unity after the 2027 presidential election. Olawepo-Hashim, who was also the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate, said the agreement aims to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensure a peaceful political transition. He stated that the focus is on producing a stable and united Nigeria through a broad-based government. The leaders emphasized the need for national unity and rebuilding the country after the election.
