The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced that it recovered N1.233 trillion and secured 10,872 convictions between October 1, 2023 and July 31, 2026. The commission disclosed these figures in a video posted on its official X account on Thursday, highlighting its activities during the 34-month period under Chairman Ola Olukoyede. According to the EFCC, it received 49,673 petitions, investigated 39,615 cases, and filed 14,476 cases in court. The commission stated that the figures reflect its efforts to combat various forms of financial crimes, including advance fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud, and economic governance fraud.
