President Joseph Boakai of Liberia has called for a partnership between Liberia and Ghana to reclaim and preserve African heritage. Speaking at a side event co-hosted by Ghana, Germany, and France on reparatory justice, he proposed a Liberia-Ghana Cultural Heritage and Historical Recovery Cooperation Framework. The framework would involve digitizing historical records, training archivists and museum professionals, researching and preserving historic sites, and developing exhibitions and educational programs. It would also support efforts to identify and return cultural materials of African origin.
