The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State has vowed to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 governorship election. The party's deputy governorship candidate, Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, expressed confidence in victory while speaking at the 22nd All Nigeria Editors Conference in Enugu. She called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure greater transparency in the 2027 elections to reduce post-election disputes and litigation. Sowunmi-Kolapo noted that most post-election litigations arise from alleged unfairness and fraud at the polls.
