A former deputy governor of Edo State, Mr Omobayo, has asked the court to suspend its ruling in a contempt case. He is charged with refusing to vacate the deputy governorship position after a court judgement on 17 July 2024 reinstated Philip Shaibu. The legislature had unlawfully impeached Shaibu.
