According to S&P Global, short-selling activity is increasing as investors scrutinize which companies can convert AI investment into sustainable returns. Matt Chessum, executive director of equity analytics products at S&P Global Market Intelligence, noted this trend. The shift reflects growing scrutiny of the AI trade's sustainability.
