Flooding in Amaegbu, Akaeze, in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has destroyed no fewer than 60 houses and displaced about 300 residents. The flooding was triggered by torrential rainfall that began on Tuesday and also destroyed farmlands and property estimated at millions of naira. One victim, Chief Michael Uzor, said his farmlands, television sets, vehicles, certificates and other valuables were destroyed, and that more than 20 houses collapsed in the Ndi Ibezeukwu area. He appealed to governments at all levels to assist the displaced residents, including children.
