Mali Commends Morocco’s Leadership in Establishing African Convention on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration of Child Soldiers

Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, commended Morocco's leadership in establishing the African Convention on the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration of Child Soldiers. In a statement to the press following the signing ceremony on Wednesday in New York, Diop described the legal instrument as important and developed by Africans. He emphasized that Mali was fully involved in the Convention, which provides a framework for exchanging experience and best practices among African countries. Around twenty African States inaugurated the signing phase at ministerial level during a ceremony chaired by Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
