Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, has reiterated Mali's support for Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara. He recalled the Malian Government's declaration of April 10, 2026, which endorsed Morocco's autonomy plan as the only serious and credible basis for resolving the dispute. Diop also expressed full support for UN Security Council Resolution 2797, calling it an important step toward a definitive solution. The statement was made after a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in New York.
