The National Bureau of Statistics reported that states generated a total of N5.15 trillion in 2025. Lagos State topped the list of revenue-generating states. Other revenue sources included direct assessment, road taxes, stamp duties, withholding taxes and capital gains tax, with capital gains tax being the smallest contributor.
