Peter Thiel has stated that America's anti-AI backlash is largely self-inflicted rather than driven by China. Speaking on Axel Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner's "MD Meets" podcast, Thiel said it was "too easy" to blame China for the shift in sentiment. He also criticised the Pope, calling him a "useful idiot for the CCP."
