The Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted Elijah Chigbogu and two companies, Prolife & Well Pharmaceutical Limited and God of Elijah Nigeria Limited, for unlawful possession, importation, and distribution of fake and unregistered drugs. Justice Musa Kakaki handed down the conviction after the defendants pleaded guilty. Chigbogu was fined N1.5 million. The case highlights ongoing efforts to combat counterfeit drugs in Nigeria.
