Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has called on newly elected local government chairmen and other council officials to manage public funds and resources prudently. He made the call on Thursday while opening a three-day capacity-building workshop in Abakaliki for council chairmen, vice chairmen, heads of personnel management, public relations practitioners, treasurers and coordinators of development centres. The governor urged participants to use the training to improve governance and service delivery at the grassroots. He also restated his administration's commitment to human capacity development, noting that the People's Charter of Needs agenda allows citizens to participate in government decision-making.
