The Armed Forces of Nigeria has launched an online discount shop to provide serving and retired personnel, veterans, and their families with access to essential goods at preferential prices. The digital welfare initiative was launched at Defence Headquarters, Abuja, by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and the Service Chiefs. Akume described the initiative as a practical intervention to improve the welfare of members of the Armed Forces and their families, leveraging digital technology to make quality goods more accessible at discounted prices. Oluyede described the initiative as a demonstration of the Armed Forces' people-centred approach to personnel welfare and disclosed that plans were underway to expand it.
