President Bola Tinubu witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World MEA FZE in Paris, France. The agreements cover the development of the Gateway Deep Seaport and the Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, which are expected to attract over $7 billion in initial investment and create more than 50,000 direct jobs when fully developed. Governor Dapo Abiodun said the deep seaport will open a new gateway for Ogun State, while the 10,000-hectare zone is intended to drive manufacturing, processing, and non-oil exports. Tinubu described the agreements as the beginning of an integrated economic commitment.
