Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, presidential candidate of the Accord Party, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State have agreed on the need to form a Government of National Unity after defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Olawepo-Hashim disclosed this after meeting with Makinde in Ibadan, Oyo State, saying the two leaders agreed that Nigeria needs a peaceful political transition followed by a broad-based government focused on rebuilding the country and restoring national unity. He stated on his verified Facebook page that they are working to defeat what he called the government of misery and hardship. The APM presidential campaign also postponed its South-south zonal town hall meeting.
