The Edo State Government has concluded plans to revitalise the moribund Edo Pharmaceutical Company in Benin City. The government is in talks with Chinese investors and others to establish drug manufacturing companies using the abandoned facility as a launch pad. Kenny Okojie, Executive Secretary of the Edo State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency, disclosed this at a press briefing in Benin City. She noted that the company, established during the military administration of Samuel Ogbemudia, was vandalised in 2020 during the #Endsars protest. When fully rehabilitated, it will supply drugs to neighbouring states and other African countries.
