Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, has urged the international community to provide affordable, long-term capital for infrastructure and energy projects across Africa. Speaking at the United Nations Dialogue on Solutions to Climate Finance during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Oyedele highlighted that high financing costs, currency risks, and limited access to long-term capital are constraining Africa's development. He noted that the energy sector faces particularly acute financing challenges, requiring massive investment to bridge the continent's energy-access deficit. The call was contained in a statement by the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Finance, Efe Ovuakporie.
