The Police Command in Bauchi State has detained 27 suspects over alleged murder, rape and other crimes in the last three weeks in the state. The command said its operatives apprehended the suspects following a series of successful operations against robbery, kidnapping, cheating, vandalism, theft, drug trafficking, circulation of counterfeit currency and sexual assault. The spokesman of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, said this at a news conference on Thursday in Bauchi, adding that the command recorded operational successes in line with crime prevention and proactive strategies aimed at sustaining onslaught against violent crimes. Habib said the police also recovered motorcycles, counterfeit currencies, narcotics, and other items from the suspects, and that operatives nabbed two suspects on Sept. 21 allegedly in possession of 69 parcels of Marijuana at Sharfolli village in Atafowa District of Itas/Gadau LGA.
