The National Library of Nigeria has called for sustainable funding to preserve the country's documentary heritage, warning that inadequate funding could lead to the loss of valuable historical records. National Librarian Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi made the call in Abuja at the launch of the National Library of Nigeria Endowment Foundation. The foundation aims to mobilise resources to complement government funding. The library operates 35 branches nationwide and its headquarters under construction in Abuja requires resources for completion and maintenance.
