Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the presidential candidate of the Accord Party, has disclosed that his Hausa and royal heritage was hidden from him for 27 years. In a statement issued in Abuja, he explained that his late father, Alhaji Hashim Abdullahi Yauri, concealed his identity following advice from an Islamic cleric about potential dangers within the royal family. Olawepo-Hashim, grandson of the 40th Seriki of Yauri, said his father prioritized protection over inheritance.
