The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has entered into a strategic partnership with four firms to expand access to clean, reliable and affordable electricity across communities in the council's four graded chiefdoms. The partnership involves a joint venture consortium comprising Transcorp Energy Limited, Transcorp Power Plc and Husk Power Systems, in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). Maikalangu stated this when he led a delegation from Transcorp Energy Limited, alongside representatives of Husk Power Systems, to the palaces of the Sa'peyi of Garki, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Usman Ngakupi, and the Chief of Jiwa, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Idris Musa. He said the council is determined to support projects that directly improve the quality of life of residents and create sustainable opportunities for economic growth. The initiative is centred on an interconnected solar mini-grid project.
