The National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWDEN) has announced a nationwide strike starting October 1, 2026, over irregularities in the metal trade. The strike is expected to last until October 15, 2026, and may continue indefinitely if no agreement is reached with steel producers. NASWDEN President Alhaji Abdulfatah Adisa Ogunwale stated that the action aims to address unfair practices threatening members' livelihoods.
