The National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWDEN) has declared a nationwide strike starting from October 1. The association cited persistent anomalies, irregularities, and grievances in the scrap metal industry. The strike will suspend the supply of scrap metals to iron-smelting companies and will continue indefinitely if no satisfactory Memorandum of Understanding is reached.
