Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has welcomed the Federal Government's decision to commence emergency repairs on the Benin-Asaba Road. The governor, speaking through the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, described the intervention as a major step towards restoring the critical economic corridor. The deplorable condition of the highway had subjected motorists, commuters, and businesses to prolonged hardship. Aniagwu attributed the deterioration largely to the failure of the concessionaire to meet the objectives of the concession agreement.
