The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), stated that terrorism, banditry, and other emerging security threats in Nigeria have national impacts, regional consequences, and global implications. He made this remark during a high-level discussion on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week in New York, attended by diplomats, security practitioners, and representatives of the United Nations, African Union, and ECOWAS. The event was convened by Nigeria's Ministry of Defence. General Musa called for a global partnership and a whole-of-society approach to address Nigeria's evolving security threats and those confronting the wider Sahel region.
