Gunmen attacked the Kassa community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State in the early hours of Friday, killing three vigilantes, including the community's youth leader. The attackers stormed the community around 1 a.m. and opened fire on the vigilantes who were on watch. In response, women and youths blocked the major Jos-Barikin Ladi Highway to protest the killings. The incident occurred four days after the state government imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu local government areas to restore normalcy following reports of attacks and killings.
