At the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Africa-Arab Partnership, African Union Commission Chairperson H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf called for revitalising the partnership and moving from declarations to implementation. He noted that 2027 will mark the 50th anniversary of the partnership, providing an opportunity to assess achievements and address challenges. Youssouf stressed the need to finalise the Joint Africa-Arab Action Plan, set clear timelines for priority projects, and develop sustainable financing mechanisms. He emphasised that the partnership should deliver concrete benefits in trade, investment, infrastructure, peace and security, food security, and cultural exchange.
