The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a warrant of arrest for the Vice Chancellor of PAMO University of Medical Sciences. The decision was made during deliberation on the report of its Ad hoc Committee investigating scholarship funds to the university. The committee recommended the arrest and urged the state government to set up a committee to recover all unaccounted funds from PAMO University and deposit them into the Consolidated Revenue Account. The assembly had opened an investigation into the state government's funding of programmes at the university since 2017.
