Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has offered Washington a seven-day plan that would see the Strait of Hormuz reopened to maritime navigation. Speaking at the United Nations, Araghchi said the plan was conveyed through Qatar and that the strait could be reopened within seven days if necessary conditions are met. He added that the choice now rests with the United States and that Iran does not accept coercion, threats or intimidation. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian separately said his country wants to return to the memorandum of understanding agreed with the United States in June, welcoming China's call for the agreement to be revived.
