The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has announced that the 2026 Igbo Day celebration will be held in Umuahia, Abia State, on September 28 and 29, 2026. The two-day event will begin with a public lecture on Monday, September 28, and conclude with a grand finale on Tuesday, September 29. Delegates are expected from the seven core states of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. According to the Policy Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, the celebration aims to promote greater unity and strategic engagement among Ndigbo.
