Bayelsa at 30: Stakeholders Seek Legislative Backing for 60MW Power Project

Stakeholders in Bayelsa State have called on the state government to provide legislative backing for the 60KVA gas turbine and other critical infrastructure to ensure sustainable development. The call was made at a special South-South Reawakening Group Roundtable meeting held to commemorate the state's 30th anniversary. The stakeholders, including energy experts, financial advisors, and policymakers, also urged the government to expand the existing 60-megawatt gas turbine facility to guarantee statewide electricity coverage. The convener of the South-South Re-Awakening Group, Joseph Ambakederimo, stressed the need to transition Bayelsa into a sustainable 24-hour power economy.
