The International Chamber of Commerce tribunal in Paris dismissed Sunrise Power's multibillion-dollar claims over the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba State. Sunrise had sought $680 million from Nigeria as a settlement sum and interest. The ruling may clear the way for one of Nigeria's biggest hydro power ambitions, as the country battles inadequate electricity supply and struggles to attract capital for generation expansion. The dispute, which lasted 23 years, was sparked by a deal involving Agunloye.
