The Super Eagles of Nigeria commenced their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday. The team, led by Eric Chell, came from behind to secure all three points with a second-half turnaround. Alex Iwobi was instrumental in Nigeria's attacking play, creating the most chances and completing 27 passes into Madagascar's defensive third, including the assist for George Ilenikhena's equalizer. Calvin Bassey also impressed, ranking second to Iwobi in passes into the final third and long forward passes.
