The Sokoto State Government has responded to claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, regarding the state's water supply. The Ministry of Water Resources, in a rejoinder signed by the Commissioner, defended its investments and ongoing interventions in the water sector. The ministry stated that it is implementing a comprehensive strategy to address both immediate and long-term water needs across Sokoto metropolis and other parts of the state. It added that several major water projects are in various stages of procurement, rehabilitation, or construction, including the ₦25 billion rehabilitation of the Sokoto Township Water Works and a ₦5 billion allocation.
