Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has called for unity, improved security, and a shift from consumption to production to create jobs and reduce poverty in Nigeria. He made the call in a post on his X platform on Saturday while recounting his visit to Delta State on Thursday, September 24. Obi joined the National Democratic Congress governorship candidate in the state, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, and other party leaders at the inauguration of the party’s campaign office in Asaba. He said the country must unite, strengthen its security architecture, and move from a consumption-driven economy to one focused on production.
