The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called on President Bola Tinubu to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race and instead support its candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. In a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Abubakar Yusuf, the party said Tinubu has failed to demonstrate the leadership needed to tackle Nigeria's security and economic challenges. The APM also accused the President of abdicating his duties to family members, aides, and unelected individuals. The party further criticized Tinubu's absence from the 81st United Nations General Assembly, where Vice-President Kashim Shettima represented Nigeria.
