Seychelles has assumed the Presidency of the SIDS DOCK Assembly through December 2027 after President Dr Patrick Herminie was elected to lead its Tenth Session. The session, held on Thursday in a hybrid format, brought together representatives of Small Island Developing States to discuss shared priorities and cooperation on energy and climate challenges. President Herminie was elected by acclamation, while the Prime Minister of Tonga and the Prime Minister of Belize were elected as Vice Presidents for the Pacific and Caribbean regions, respectively. In his remarks, President Herminie thanked the Prime Minister of Tuvalu for his previous leadership.
