Three individuals have been sentenced to 25 years in prison each for their involvement in stealing and smuggling approximately 40,000 mobile phones from the United Kingdom to China. The sentencing followed a year-long investigation named Operation Echosteep. The operation began in December 2024 after police discovered a shipment containing about 1,000 iPhones at a warehouse near Heathrow Airport. The trio was convicted for their roles in the large-scale theft and export operation.
