Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran's new plan to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz was coordinated with supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei. In an interview with CBS, Pezeshkian said Iran would fulfill its obligations if the United States agrees to the proposal. The strait is vital for global oil supply and central to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, which has been deadlocked for nearly seven months. A six-member team in Iran has been meeting and has the authority to make decisions.
