Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Abiodun Olatunji, has cautioned the federal government against unilaterally revoking the 25-year concession agreement for the Benin-Asaba Expressway. He advised that without evidence of abandonment, repudiation, or unreasonable delay in repair works, there may not be sufficient grounds for revocation. Olatunji provided his legal opinion amid a dispute between the Federal Ministry of Works and the Benin-Asaba Expressway Concession Company Limited (BAECC). The federal government had ordered immediate intervention and re-concessioning of the highway.
